A 95-year-old nursing home resident tasered by a police officer had displayed behaviour consistent with dementia and arthritis that impacted her ability to walk, a Sydney court has heard.

Clare Nowland “was unable to understand what was happening to her and to comply with instructions,” geriatrician Prof Susan Kurrle told the New South Wales supreme court on Wednesday.
