Criminal investigation in Phoenix launched as number of ballots affected not yet certain and motive of fire is unclear

A postal service collection box was set on fire early Thursday in Phoenix, damaging a small number of mail-in ballots dropped off at the box.

Local media reported the incident Thursday, citing police and fire department officials who said the United States Postal Service mailbox was on fire about 1.30am local time. It is now part of a criminal investigation, ABC15 reported.
