Amid urging from the Greens, Michelle Rowland pledged government would announce plan on the issue – but didn’t say if this included a bill

The communications minister, Michelle Rowland has pledged Labor will announce its plans on gambling ads before the election, but declined to promise whether that would actually involve new legislation.

Asked about the delay on Wednesday, Rowland said the government is “committed to responding in full to Peta Murphy’s inquiry, and to have a comprehensive response in this term”.
