Santa Barbara county authorities tell people to avoid area amid reports suspect had thrown bag into courtroom

Authorities responded to a report of a small explosion at the courthouse in Santa Maria, California, on Wednesday.

“Santa Maria courthouse: report of an explosion. Please avoid the area. Scene has not been deemed safe. More info to follow,” the Santa Barbara county sheriff’s office said in a post on X.
