Helene becomes a hurricane and is expected to intensify as it moves toward Florida

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Helene strengthened into a hurricane Wednesday, and forecasters warned that the storm would intensify as it crosses the Gulf of Mexico on a path to Florida.
